Books

With so many great books out there, it's difficult to choose. Here are a few books that I found to be of great interest with sound information.

  • The Okinawa Program: How the World's Longest-Lived People Achieve Everlasting Health--And How You Can Too - I refer to this book often. The food pyramid of the longest living people in the world differs slightly from ours. The author shows you why you are not only what you eat, but how you live each day. The book is based on 25 years of research into Okinawa longevity. I've followed this eating regime for nearly 3 years. As a added benefit for me is that my migraines were reduced by 90%.

  • Beating Cancer with Nutrition: If you or someone you know has cancer, then you need this book. When my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer stage IV, I bought this book. She has followed (as much as she can) the recommendations in this book as she undergoes intense chemotherapy treatments and is tolerating the treatments much better then when she first started. Keeping your heathly cells healthy is important during chemotherapy. Read this book. You'll learn some amazing things about illness and nutrition.
